Qamea Resort & Spa – Fiji is very proud to have been named one of the World’s Ten Exclusive Hideaways by the very prestigious and influential Robb Report – For the Luxury Lifestyle in the cover story of their March 2004 issue.

As the article’s only featured resort from Fiji, Qamea Resort & Spa is very excited about this special recognition.  In the article, entitled Bure-d Treasure, Jordan Morris describes Qamea Resort & Spa as a hidden treasure, noting, “Qamea’s ceremonies and staff impart a true taste of Fiji’s culture and welcoming spirit.”

Brett Anderson, Robb Report Senior Vice President and Editorial Director, explains, "in addtition to exceptional accommodations, exquisite dining and an abundance of recreational activities, these 10 properties truly satiate the craving for solitude and simplicity.  Given the considerable number of luxury resorts that have opened in the past two years, we felt that this was the ideal time for this cover story.  These ten properties personify the very finest that the world has to offer."

Ron Eckstrom, co-owner of the resort, states, “All of us at Qamea Resort & Spa are very proud to have been selected as one of The Robb Report’s Ten Exclusive Hideaways.  The Robb Report is the world’s premier publication for luxury living, and to have been chosen as an exclusive getaway is a tremendous honor.”

Qamea Resort & Spa is located amongst the northern islands of Fiji, in an area that has yet to be commercialized by mass market tourism.  Featuring only twelve elegantly appointed beachfront bures (bungalows), the resort provides a private tropical getaway for discerning travelers seeking a truly unique Fijian experience without sacrificing luxury and service.  Located along a private white-sand beach on 43 acres of lush tropical gardens, all of Qamea’s bures have recently completed extensive renovations while maintaining the charm of its traditional Fijian architecture and ambiance.  The bures now boast outdoor open-air garden showers set in river stone, enlarged Italian bathrooms, air-conditioning, and exquisite new furnishings.

The Spa at Qamea is the first in Fiji to be recognized as an official Guinot Institut Paris Spa, featuring professionally-trained spa therapists from New Zealand and the United Kingdom using Guinot beauty products and techniques.  Michele Campbell, Qamea’s award-winning Executive Chef, brings with her exciting and innovative gourmet cuisine, taking full advantage of fresh local seafood, and local tropical fruits and vegetables grown in the resort’s organic gardens.  Along with a new dive boat, new waterfront dive and water sport center, and a fully equipped gym, Qamea Resort & Spa is quickly becoming an industry leader as a relaxing, luxurious Fiji escape with a personal touch.

Now in its 28th year, Robb Report is the leading international authority on the luxury lifestyle with a paid circulation of 102,000 and an average subscription price of $65. With exclusive editorial and stunning photography, Robb Report provides an authoritative and detailed guide to the varied passions of today's affluent consumer. Each issue features extensive coverage of luxury cars, motorcycles and private aircraft as well as fashion and style, luxury travel and real estate, home furnishings and home entertaining. Annual franchise issues include “Car of the Year,” “The Best of the Best” and “Ultimate Gift Guide.”
